Return to Florence
Florence is a magnificent Renaissance city and a place we love to return to. Carol, the planner, did some research to find a genuine palazzo to stay in: Palazzo Magnani Feroni. It turned out that we were very happy to have chosen this hotel after John got grounded for a few days with food poisoning (don't even suggest truffles and wild mushrooms to him!).

Though it was a bit of a climb on John's new knee, the Palazzo had a tower (above middle) with an amazing view (above right & left, below left & middle).

And, of course, the Arno River is still an important part of the city, just as it was during the Renaissance. Whether it is the Ponte Vechio, the reflections, or activity on the river, the views are captivating.
