Indonesia 2012
Bali

We cruised into Bali at dawn. On leaving the ship we were met with Balanese dancers and musicians. From our bus, we could see the poverty that is pervasive in Indonesia.
We were treated to a performance of the traditional Barong Dance, which displays the fight between good and evil. Gongs and percussion (lots of both) provide the musical background for the experience.
During a visit to the Neka Art Museum, we encountered several interesting moss covered carvings. In the village of Kemenuh we saw carvers working on teak and ebony to make masks, religious figures, and wall decorations. as well has street-side cooking places. As we passed through the country, we saw people working in fields and rice terraces.
