Christmas in London 2009 l'Atalier de Joël Robuchon
l'Atalier de Joël Robuchon is one of our favorite places in London and a truly amazing dining adventure. This trip we tried another tasing menu paired with "new world" wines. Of course, all the wines were from the eastern hemisphere and, even then, only one was from south of the equator. No matter, it was a truly lovely experience!
I say, old spot, nothing like a glass of bubbly to start with! (above, middle)
Parmesan cappucino with port.
Jerusalem artichoke soup, quail egg and a mushroom and black truffle crouton.
Hot foie gras, beer confit red cabbage with roast “Solies” figs.
Scallop cooked in its shell with seaweed butter.
The fish course and activity in the kitchen.
Free range quail stuffed with foie gras and truffled mashed potatoes, all concluded with desert—and dashing out still chewing to make the theater!
